Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 18:36:14 GMT

Call up your Luddite loved ones and your nostalgic friends who still cherish physical media. After 25 years, Netflix is ending its DVD-by-mail business. Before it was upending the entertainment industry and ushering in the streaming era, Netflix was a company whose business model revolved around sending DVDs through the mail in easily recognizable red-and-white envelopes. But the practice has long felt anachronistic, and the company said Tuesday that it will ship its final DVDs to customers on Sept. 29.How many customers? Netflix doesn’t break out those numbers anymore. But whoever they are, it’s time for them to dust off any DVDs they might have lying around and send their red envelopes back to Los Gatos, California, where they can be retired to the landfills for good.“Those iconic red envelopes changed the way people watched shows and movies at home — and they paved the way for the shift...

It was a quiet game for a Baltimore offense that has carried the team at times early this season, but Kremer and the bullpen picked up the slack.“Our offense has been doing an amazing job scoring runs,” manager Brandon Hyde said. “We haven’t played many 1-0 ballgames, and sometimes you have to win that way.”Kremer (1-0) worked out of a second-and-third, nobody-out jam in the third, and that was as close as the Nationals came to scoring on the right-hander. He allowed only four hits in 6 2/3 innings, striking out six without a walk.Danny Coulombe got the final out of the seventh, Yennier Cano breezed through the eighth and Félix Bautista pitched the ninth for his...
